Nick Hill,
Managing Director
With a broad range of experience in various industries in many geographical locations, Nick provides the backbone of technical and business expertise to Strait Solutions.

Originally trained as a geologist, Nick spent the early part of his career looking for oil in the UK, Europe, Middle East and South America. During this time he was involved in the development of software tools to process and interpret the large amount of data generated by borehole tools used in oil exploration.

Nick's move to New Zealand signalled a change in his career pathway, to the business of software and internet development, working initally for Telecom New Zealand and then contracting for Synergy.
Taking a position as Technical Director of Hyperactive New Media provided Nick with extensive experience in managing a development team, the entire software development lifecycle from selling to ongoing support of a solution and essential experience in ensuring a smooth production process throughout.

More recently Nick has contracted to Barnardos New Zealand as their IT manager. This senior position in what is a large organisation proved a challenging role due to a long history of underfunding in IT throughout the organisation. Nick responded by developing a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap for the future and managed numerous projects to completion including replacement of over half of their aging desktops, a Windows XP / Office XP standard build upgrade for all users, a brand new internet site, development of a IT helpdesk package and a new intranet site.

Gillian Hill,
Financial Controller
With a number of years experience working for major financial institutions in the City Of London, Gillian is well qualified in keeping the Strait Solutions finances under control.
Gillian has a very keen eye for detail and provides essential quality control of completed work and communications.

Contract Staff
Strait Solutions makes extensive use of contract staff. This enables us to have the expertise at hand when we need it whilst keeping our overheads at a minimum.
